Dinning In The The Caves.

So as I was annihilating my lunch today I happened to bump into this interesting location down at Diani. I have always had a thing for epic tales, stories that make you go 'Wooooah'. Did you know that Ali Barbour Cave in Diani is thought to be around 120,000 - 180,000 years old?

My first assumption of a nice dinner setting is a well lit ambient hotel restaurant or a beach setting with some aroma sifting through the air, but wait. Ever heard of a dinner setting in a cave? You probably thinking what I smoked after my lunch break right?

But hold up, Ali Barbour Restaurant is a stylish restaurant in Diani that brings a whole new meaning to modern restaurants. Try and imagine having dinner surrounded by candles, open skies with glittering stars shinning down on your sumptuous meal. Sounds like a dream you just woke up from.

Whether you are on a romantic venture, tossing to a special occasion or entertaining your guests Ali Barbour's Cave Restaurant is nothing short of dazzling. The food served bursts in flavor to fill your taste buds with the best best sea food cusinies that comes with fresh calamari, prawns and lobsters.

As you step into the restaurant you step into a different world that I personally doubt I'd want to step out from.

Offbeat Mara Camp

This new season I shall be focusing on relatively unknown locations but equally beautiful and worth to pay a visit just as the best tour destinations we all know of. Kicking off our 2012 is a small private safari camp located in The Mara.

This is your ideal getaway location for a relaxed quiet time out from the bustling Nairobi City and the ocean waves. Offbeat Mara Camp nestles into a valley in the middle of the wilderness, a doubly protected area that provides guests with unparalleled game viewing.

Offbeat Mara Camp works closely with the local Masai community, employing many local Masai in the camp and contributing to community funds. The camp has six well appointed, en-suite tents and is hosted by Emma Baxter.

  • 6 Large luxury tents.
  • Full board including house wines, beer and soft drinks.
  • Children of all ages are welcome, rules apply.

What makes it unique; An exclusive, private tented camp, with a traditional bush camp ambiance. Not forgeting its full-board rates.
